Analysis of  Young Boys Vs Manchester United Betting Tips

Manchester United travel to Bern, Switzerland in what would be their first game of the penultimate 2018/19 Champions League season. The Red Devils progressed into the group stages of the competition, having come second in the Premier League, in a season where city rivals, Manchester City turned out runaway winners of the Premier League trophy.

A new league season has begun, and the Reds experienced a hugely successful weekend, recording two wins in two, putting their dismal start to the season –  losses in the second and third weekend to Brighton and Tottenham, behind them.

However, it would be the performance in Europe, that would give United’s manager Jose Mourinho a strong cause for concern. The previous season’s campaign ended acrimoniously with United losing to Sevilla on home turf, after having played for a draw at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

With the rant about “football heritage” fully behind him, the manager would be aiming to make a statement win, for the start of the new campaign.

However, that intent might not be so easily attained with United’s opponents, Young Boys sitting comfortably at the top of the Swiss Super League table, having played 6 games, won 6, with a goal difference of 15. The 2017/18 Swiss champions reached the group stages for the first time, after having fallen aside in the qualification phases and play-offs in all of the previous six attempts. An in-form side, with the Swiss club’s last game registering a win over FC Schaffhausen in the Swiss Cup, United should expect that the trip to Stade den Suisse could turn out to be a feisty encounter.

However, with other strong contenders in the group, in the form of Italian side, Juventus and Valencia, the goals aggregate against the Swiss club could be the difference between failure to qualify, dropping off to the Europa League, or proceeding into the knockout stages in the Champions League.
