Analysis of  Tottenham Vs Barcelona Betting Tips

A highly entertaining must-see match to look forward to as Tottenham welcome Barcelona for Matchday 2 of the Champions League this season. The Lilywhites welcome the La Liga champions in what could be the first time to these sides meet on the competitive competition.

The last time the two sides faced each other in the International Champions Cup earlier in the year with the La Liga giants coming out champions in a penalty shootout, after normal time ended on a 2 – 2 scoreline.

During the game, obvious absentees included the Argentine superstar Lionel Messi and Tottenham elite forward Harry Kane, with both having taken part in the World Cup. However, with a different object to play for, both players would be expected to lead their sides onto the pitch under the spotlights at the Wembley Stadium, with the Lilywhites’ new home ground, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium still going through construction.

The Lilywhites had a positive weekend with the win over Huddersfield Town at the Kirklees Stadium, with the win making two in two, having picked up an earlier win against Watford in the Carabao Cup competition during the week.

However, on the continental front, during the curtain-raiser of the Champions League, the Lilywhites fell to a 2 – 1 defeat against Italian side, Inter Milan, with goals from Mauro Icardi in the 85’ minute and another from Matias Vecino in full-time stoppage time, with a goal from Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen in the 53’ minute unable to get the English side up to a positive start.

With the Lilywhites third in the group standings, a win is needed to give the English side a strong chance of making it out of the group phase.

For Barca, a week with mixed results with the Spanish side having lost to Leganes during the week, and picked up a draw against Athletic Bilbao during the weekend.

However, the La Liga giants did pick up a 4 – 0 win against PSV Eindhoven, with Lionel Messi getting a hat-trick and Ousmane Dembele getting on the score sheet.

It should be expected that La Liga champions would follow up with a win here.

However, Tottenham having conquered the Catalan side’s rivals, Real Madrid at the Wembley Stadium the previous season, the English side would be looking to similar outcome – to topple their La Liga opponents.
