Analysis of  Real Madrid Vs AS Roma Betting Tips

Welcome to the 2018-2019 Champions League opener, as Real Madrid begin their European title defence when they welcome Roma to the Santiago Bernabeu. The Spanish club has had one of the most successful stints in Europe in the last decade, having won four finales in the last five years, winning three of these on the back of each other. Thus the Madrid-based club has won the showpiece event an astounding 13 times, remaining the only club side to have won the competition in double figures.

Madrid enjoyed an amazing run in the competition the previous season, with wins over French giants, PSG, German giants, Bayern Munich, and a pulsating finale over Italian giants, Juventus where a mesmerizing bicycle kick from talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo – the Portuguese’s goal voted goal of the season, saw the Spanish side through to the semi-finals.

The Spanish side had a thrill of the finals with a dominating performance against opponents, Liverpool.

The defending champions welcome last season’s semi-finalist, Roma to the Santiago Bernabeu in what should be a pulsating game. The Italian side had a horrendous performance the previous season, having inspired a memorable comeback against Spanish champions, Barcelona, overturning a 4 – 1 goal deficit to winning 3 – 0 at the Stadium Olimpico, and progressing to the semi-finals, only to go down to a 5 – 2 defeat in the first leg of the semi-finals.

On the domestic end, the Italian side has had mixed results with a win over Torino in the start of the season, with draws to Atalanta and Chievo, and a loss to Milan.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, in the post – Ronaldo era, have gotten on to a positive start on the domestic front, with wins over Getafe, Girona, and Leganes, recording the only draw for the season against Athletic Bilbao during the weekend.

The hosts, however, would be much raring to go on the continental end, with the UEFA Super Cup loss against Atletico Madrid still hovering over the atmosphere at the club grounds. Roma, with an almost similar comeback from the 5 – 2 away defeat to eventual runners-up, Liverpool, would be looking to turn the page over and focus toward an inspiring victory.
