Analysis of  Monaco Vs Atletico Madrid Betting Tips

This year’s Group A Champions League matches take off when French side, Monaco welcome Atletico Madrid to the Stade Louis II. The match sees the 2016-2017 semi-finalists pitted against last season’s Europa League winners.

The hosts had an unfortunate run in the Champions League the previous season, coming off at the group stages with zero wins from six matches, two draws and four losses, and departing the group stages at the bottom of the table.

The French side, however, finished runners-up on the domestic front – with rivals, PSG, runaway leaders, and with a 3 – 1 win over Nantes in the season’s opener, a loss against Bordeaux, and a draw against Toulouse the previous weekend have gotten their season up with a mixed start.

Presiding Monaco boss, Leonardo Jardim, however, famed for an attacking style of play would be looking for an inspiring run when his side goes against Atletico at the start of the competition.

Atletico recorded a disappointing weekend in which the Spanish side drew against Eibar, and the visitors would be hoping for some kick to get them back up in domestic form. The visitors have had an uneventful start to the season, with a draw against Valencia at the commencement of the new season, a win over Rayo Vallecano, however, going on to lose to Celta Vigo the following weekend, and the start would definitely not be what mercurial manager, Diego Simeone, envisioned for the club at the beginning of the season.

The Madrid club made a lot of investments during the summer, with French winger, Thomas Lemar, crossing the divide from the hosts’ grounds to the Wanda Metropolitano, and the match would present his first visit to his former side in Atletico colours.

On the continental front, however, the Spanish club last match was the impressive UEFA Super Cup win against Real Madrid, and the visitors would be feeling they have lots of resources to draw from to go a long way in this tournament.

With newly bought players beginning to gel on the pitch, the visitors might have more than enough to go against their opponents.
